A technological platform dedicated to the processing and valorization of natural resources.

PLANET (PLAtform for Natural Resources Engineering and Transformation), within JRU IATE (Agropolymer Engineering and Emerging Technologies - INRAE, Université de Montpellier, Institut Agro Montpellier), supports the development, optimization, and evaluation of processes for transforming and valorizing agro-resources for food and non-food applications. It brings together scientific and technical expertise, as well as instrumented pilot-scale equipment, to carry out experiments, generate experimental data, and support research and innovation projects.

The platform’s activities are structured around three main areas of processing:
° dry fractionation, separation, and sorting;
° structuring and hydrothermal treatments;
° characterization of raw materials, resulting powders, and transformed products.

These work areas cover both food uses — for example flour, semolina, dough, and couscous — and non-food uses, such as biocomposite materials, pharmaceutical applications, and biofuels.

PLANET’s approach aims to design and optimize processes while best controlling material, energy, and by-products.
