A technological platform dedicated to the processing and valorization of natural resources.

PLANET (PLAtform for Natural Ressources Engineering and Transformation), within JRU IATE (Agropolymer Engineering and Emerging Technologies), supports the development, optimization, and evaluation of processes for transforming and valorizing agro-resources for food and non-food applications. It brings together scientific and technical expertise, as well as instrumented pilot-scale equipment, to carry out experiments, generate experimental data, and support research and innovation projects.

The platform’s activities are structured around three main areas of processing:
° dry fractionation, separation, and sorting;
° structuring and hydrothermal treatments;
° characterization of raw materials, resulting powders, and transformed products.

These work areas cover both food uses — for example flour, semolina, dough, and couscous — and non-food uses, such as biocomposite materials, pharmaceutical applications, and biofuels.

PLANET’s approach aims to design and optimize processes while best controlling material, energy, and by-products.
